Social media are part of an ever-changing landscape. There is so much to focus on and so much that can be done, but where to start? It’s normal to feel a little lost during the journey to establishing a good social media presence. Luckily, we’re here to help. Here are some tips from our digital team on how to optimize your social media presence in 2023.
1. Optimize your social profiles
Relevant call-to-action buttons are the holy grail to giving your visitors an optimal customer journey experience. Clicking a call-to-action is key to leading them to where you want them to go, or what you want them to see. People don’t like it when they have to put a lot of effort into finding something, especially something you just teased them with. That means that good call-to-action buttons like ‘click here’ and ‘link in bio’ increase your conversion rate by 80%.
An engaging bio is just as important as a good description on your dating profile. It instantly tells people who visit your page what you’re all about. Besides that, it makes it easier for people who haven’t found your brand yet to stumble upon your page and instantly click on whatever you have to offer. Keep your info up to date and use keywords that relate to your content to increase your chances of being found.
2. Master short-form video
Video statistics crush photo statistics every time! Spend some time researching how other people create short videos on TikTok and Instagram Reels. It’s proven to be the most effective way to seduce the algorithm and get in touch with your followers and prospects. Look around at people that inspire you, and create content every day to gain momentum. Using trending sounds or songs can help to make your video a hit.
3. Have a strong brand value proposition
Focus on 3 to 5 things that fit your niche so your content is consistent and people know what they can expect. Setting a great brand value proposition is making clear to your followers why they should turn to you to get the content they are looking for, and not to someone else. Why should they follow you? What makes you different or what makes you appealing and memorable? Once you’ve set a clear brand that separates you from others, stick to it so it becomes your own. ‘All over the place’ content is not appealing. Consistency is key.
Cross-promotion on different social media platforms provides great results: it improves your reputation and increases awareness. When you reach out to your public through various channels, you inevitably increase your chances of response or interest in what you have to offer. Look at it this way: people you haven’t reached via Instagram may see what they missed on TikTok and vice versa.
5. Create shareable content
Viewers are more likely to share something they can relate to. This, or content that evokes a strong emotional reaction, is a factor that makes content much more interesting to share with others. Validating the opinions that your audience has is also very useful. If you know something lives within the community, don’t be afraid to talk about it. The most important thing is to make content that your viewers want to engage with. Ask questions, ask them to do something or react to something or get their opinions. Talk, engage, and interact.
6. Write Instagram SEO
What the hell is SEO? Well, let us explain. It is an important marketing tool that is not that hard to master! You want to be the first one to pop up in the search bar when someone types in terms related to your content or business, and Instagram SEO tactics can help you achieve this goal.
SEO starts with your bio. As we mentioned in the first part, keywords are essential to describe what you have to offer. It provides context for human visitors and bots that return search results. Instagram alt text is also a big part of SEO, as it helps Instagram understand what’s in your content better and better understand whether it’s relevant to a specific search. There is no exact formula for SEO, but there are some tactics to increase your reach:
- Use keywords in your captions
- Use relevant hashtags
- Optimize your alt text
- Use subtitles for video: especially if they mention keywords
- Add a location to your bio
- Engage with pages that rank higher with the same keywords, and get them to engage back with you
- Follow the guidelines of the platform
